Mid-West Athletic Conference Fall 2016 Sports Awards

This fall the Mid-West Athletic Conference awarded individual players and coaches with the following awards: First Team All-Conference, Honorable Mention, Coach of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Player of the Year. Men's and women's soccer teams were also awarded Goal Keeper of the year.  The award winners are as follows:

Men's Soccer:

Heartland Community College:

Heartland Community College men's soccer team had five players mentioned. Honorable Mention went out to: Daniel Burton, Tyler Curylo, Liam Rouane, Erlend Sjoveian, and Alejandro Vidal.

Illinois Central College:

ICC men's soccer team had three players awarded First Team All-Conference and three awarded Honorable Mention. The teams head coach, Oz Bakirdan was awarded Co-Coach of the Year. First Team All-Conference went to: Luka Andonovski, Dusan Keca, and Dario Ljubic. Honorable Mention went to: Bojan Bobinac, Tommy Driscoll, and Nikola Vujicic.

Lincoln College:

Lincoln College men's soccer team had four players awarded First Team All-Conference. Goal Keeper of the Year was awarded to Pierson Fleming. The teams head coach, Ben Massena was also presented with Co-Coach of the Year. The First Team All-Conference recipients are: Cristian Castillo, Pierson Fleming, Adrian Roman, and Shevon Stewart.

Lincoln Land Community College:

Lincoln Land Community College men's soccer team had one player awarded First Team All-Conference and one player receiving Honorable Mention. The Mid-West Athletic Conference Player of the Year was awarded to Oscar Gordillo.  Jordan Lowell was awarded Honorable Mention.

Parkland College:

Parkland College men's soccer team had three players receiving First Team All-Conference and five players awarded Honorable Mention. First Team All-Conference recipients are: Emmanuel Komba, Gesi Muharremi, and Johnny Pugh. Honorable Mention was awarded to: Juan Garcia, Patrick Kuanda, Matt Sharman, Dan White, and Alex Zarco. Freshman Player of the Year was granted to Parkland's Johnny Pugh.

Women's Soccer:

Heartland Community College:

Heartland Community College's women's soccer team had three players named First Team All-Conference. The players are: Dominique Avila, Rachel McDonald, and Rachel Schutte. Heartland also had Rachel McDonald awarded Co-Freshman of the Year.

Illinois Central College:

Illinois Central College women's soccer team had two players receiving First Team All-Conference: America Garcia and Cassidy Waltz.  Cassidy Waltz was also named Co-Freshman of the Year. 

Lincoln College:

Lincoln College's Jaylee Swinford was awarded Honorable Mention.

Parkland College:

Parkland College women's soccer team had six players receiving First Team All-Conference this year. The players are: Jenna Ashley, Anna Mehatton, Ellie McKenzie, Suzie Pelayo, Shante Tremblett, and Michaela Ward. Ellie McKenzie also received Player of the Year. Goal Keeper of the Year was awarded to Jenna Ashley. Coach of the Year was awarded to Parkland's head coach Chris Jackson.

Women's Volleyball:

Lewis and Clark Community College:

Lewis and Clark Community College women's volleyball team has one player awarded First Team All-Conference and one player receiving Honorable Mention. Awarded First Team All-Conference is Brooke Hustedde. Molly Stumpf was awarded Honorable Mention.

Lincoln College:

Lincoln College women's volleyball team had one player receive First Team All-Conference and one player awarded Honorable Mention. Receiving First Team All-Conference is MaKenzie Cooper. Kaylyn Hoffert was awarded Honorable Mention.

Lincoln Land Community College:

Lincoln Land Community College women's volleyball team had two players receive First Team All-Conference and one player was awarded Honorable Mention. Receiving First Team All-Conference is Kiersten Anderson and Talesha Scott. Honorable Mention was awarded to Addie Patton. Kiersten Anderson was also awarded with Co-Freshman of the Year.

Parkland College:

Parkland College's Fia Willis and Jamie Johnson were awarded First Team All-Conference.  Fia Willis was also awarded Co-Freshman of the Year.  Laura Gross was awarded with Player of the Year. The team's head coach Cliff Hastings received Coach of the Year.

The Mid-West Athletic Conference is very proud of all the individuals and teams participation in this season and we look forward to future seasons.
