March MWAC Basketball Update

Mid-West Athletic Conference Men's and Women's basketball stats update:

Week: March 4th-11th

Danville Area Community College

Danville Area Community College men's basketball team is currently 14-14 in their regular season and 3-7 in conference. The team faced Illinois Central College on March 4th and were defeated by the Cougars, 85-65. They took on Illinois Central College again on March 9th and took their second loss to the Cougars, 82-79.

Danville women's basketball team holds a 2-22 record so far this season, as well as 0-8 in conference. On March 4th they were defeated by Lewis and Clark Community College, 73-63. The Jaguars faced Illinois Central College on March 10th and fell short to the Cougars, 90-46.

Illinois Central College

Illinois Central College men's basketball team holds a 16-14 regular season record and a conference record of 5-5. The team played against Danville Area Community College on March 4th and defeated them, 85-65. The Cougars faced Danville Area Community College again on March 9th and were able to defeat the Jaguars for the second time, 82-79. The next day the team took on Parkland College, but were unable to defeat the Cobras 71-57.

John Wood Community College

John Wood Community College men's basketball team's current record is 19-12 and they have a conference record of 6-4. The Blazers were able to defeat Lincoln College on March 4th, 83-73. Later on March 9th they took on Lincoln Land Community College and were able to defeat them for their second win of the week, 69-67.

John Wood women's basketball team's current record is 14-15, and 6-4 in conference. The Blazers faced Lincoln College on March 4th and were unsuccessful losing, 70-65.

Lewis and Clark Community College

Lewi and Clark women's basketball team holds a record of 19-7 and 5-3 in conference. On March 4th the Trailblazers took on Danville Area Community College and successfully defeated them, 73-63.

Lincoln College

Lincoln College men's basketball team's current record is 17-13, and 4-6 in conference. The Lynx played John Wood Community College on March 4th and fell short to the Blazers, 66-53.

Lincoln College women's basketball team holds a record of 14-17 and 4-6 in conference. The team faced John Wood Community College on March 4th and won, 70-65. Later on March 10th they faced Parkland College and lost, 76-58.

Lincoln Land Community College

Lincoln Land Community College men's basketball team has a current record of 15-14 and 2-8 in conference. On March 4th they fell short to Parkland College, 69-63. Later on March 9th the Loggers faced John Wood Community College and lost their second game of the week, 69-67.

Lincoln Land women's basketball team's record is 16-13 so far this year and they are 4-6 in conference. The team faced Parkland College on March 4th and lost, 65-61. Later on March 10th the Loggers played Lake Lend College and lost their second game of the week, 68-64.

Parkland College

Parkland College men's basketball team has a current record of 26-3, and are 10-0 in conference. On March 4th they faced Lincoln Land Community College and won, 69-63. Later on March 10th the Cobras managed to defeat Illinois Central College, 71-57. The team is on a 20 game winning streak.

Parkland women's basketball team's current record is 23-6 and are 9-1 in conference. They faced Lincoln Land Community College on March 4th and won, 65-61. Later on March 10th they played Lincoln College and produced another win, 76-58.  

NJCAA Rankings

The National Junior College Athletic Association released their latest Division II men's and women's basketball rankings. The latest poll was taken on February 28th and the Mid-West Athletic Conference has two teams ranked. Both Parkland Colleges basketball teams have been ranked in the latest poll. Parkland's men's team moved down in the rankings from 6th to 7th. While their women's team also moved down from 12th to 16th.
