Mid-West Athletic Conference Baseball/Softball Season Update

Week: April 1st-7th

Danville Area Community College:

Danville's baseball team has a 15-6 record in their regular season and 9-3 in conference. On April 2nd the Jaguars played a double header against Lincoln College and won both games, 4-0 and 1-0. On the 4th the team played Lincoln College again in another double header, winning their fourth game in a row against LC, 3-1 and 7-0.

Danville's softball team is currently 17-7 in their regular season and 8-4 in conference. On April 1st the team split with Parkland College in a double header losing the first game 7-1 and winning the second game 1-0. On the 2nd they split again in double header against Parkland College, losing the first game 10-2 and wining the second 8-3.

Heartland Community College:

Heartland's baseball team is currently 18-6 so far this season with a conference record of 8-4. The team took on Illinois Central College on April 1st and split, winning the first game 5-4 and losing the second game 5-3. On the 4th they had another double header against Illinois Central College and defeated them both games, 11-0 and 6-5.

Heartland's softball team has a current record of 17-10 with a conference record of 8-4. On April 1st the team split with Spoon River College in a double header, winning the first game 8-5 and losing the second 14-10. On the 2nd they swept Spoon River College in a double header winning both games, 7-6 and 14-6.

Illinois Central College:

ICC's current record is 9-13 and 2-6 in conference. The team faced Heartland Community College on April 1st and split with the Hawks, losing the first game 5-4 and winning the second game 5-3. On the 4th the Cougars faced Heartland Community College in another double header and were unsuccessful both games losing, 11-0 and 6-5.

John Wood Community College:

John Wood's baseball team has a record of 9-9 and 2-6 in conference. The team played Heartland Community College in a double header on March 24th, but were unsuccessful both games losing to the Hawks, 12-4 and 5-4. Later on the 28th the Blazers faced Heartland Community College in another double header and experienced two more loses to the Hawks, 7-5 and 10-4.

John Wood's softball team has a current record of 4-14 and are 2-4 in conference. On April 2nd the team swept Lewis and Clark Community College in a double header, winning 4-3 and 12-2.

Lewis & Clark Community College:

Lewis and Clark's baseball team is currently 7-14 in their regular season and 6-6 in conference. The Trailblazers took on Spoon River College in a double header on April 1st and split with them, losing the first game 12-7 and winning the second game 2-0. On April 2nd they faced Spoon River College in another double header and this time won both games, 5-0 and 10-0.  

Lewis and Clark's softball team is currently 4-16 and 2-6 in conference so far this season. On April 2nd the team took on John Wood Community College in a double header and lost both games, 4-3 and 14-2.

Lincoln College:

Lincoln's baseball team is currently 11-10 and 4-8 in conference so far this season. The team faced Danville Area Community College on April 2nd, but were unable to get the job done and lost both games, 4-0 and 1-0. Later on April 4th the Lynx faced Danville Area Community College in another double header and lost both games again, 3-1 and 7-0.

Lincoln's softball team has an overall record of 12-9 and 3-7 in conference so far this season. On April 1st the Lynx faced off in a double header against Lincoln Land Community College and split with the Loggers. They lost the first game 10-2 and won the second 7-6. On April 2nd they played Lincoln Land Community College in another double header and ended up losing both games, 3-2 and 12-4.

Lincoln Land Community College:

Lincoln Land's baseball team is currently 16-7 and 6-6 in conference so far this season. The Loggers faced Parkland College in a double header on April 1st and were unsuccessful both games, losing 10-2 and 8-5. Later on the 2nd they played Parkland College in another double, but still could not get the job done and lost both games to the Cobras, 7-0 and 3-2.

Lincoln Land's softball team has a current record of 12-14 and 7-5 in conference. On April 1st the Loggers took on Lincoln College in a double header and split, winning the first game 10-2 and losing the second 7-6. Later on the 2nd the team faced Lincoln College again in another double header and were successful in both games, winning 3-2 and 12-4.

Parkland College:

Parkland's baseball team has a record of 22-4 and 8-0 in conference so far this season. The Cobras took on Lincoln Land Community College in a double header on April 1st and carried out both wins, 10-2 and 8-5. Later on the 2nd they faced Lincoln Land Community College in another double header and gained another two wins from the Loggers, 7-0 and 3-2.

Parkland's softball team is currently 17-5 and 7-5 in conference so far. They took on Danville Area Community College on April 1st in a double header and split with the Jaguars, winning the first game 7-1 and losing the second game 1-0. Later on the 2nd the Cobras faced Danville Area Community College again in another double header and split again, winning the first game 10-2 and losing the second game 8-3.

Spoon River College:

Spoon River's baseball team is currently 3-20 and 3-9 in conference. The Snappers took on Lewis and Clark Community College in a double header and split, winning the first game 12-7 and losing the second game 2-0. The next day the team faced Lewis and Clark Community College again in another double header and lost both games, 5-0 and 10-0.

Spoon River's softball team has a current record of 21-21 and 5-7 in conference. On April 1st the Snappers faced Heartland Community College in a double header and split, losing the first game 8-5 and winning the second game 14-10. Later on the 2nd they faced Heartland Community College again in another double header and were unsuccessful both games, losing 7-6 and 14-6. The team faced Carl Sandburg in a double header on April 6th and were successful both games, winning 18-5 and 11-0.

NJCAA Rankings:

Six Mid-West Athletic Conference teams are currently ranked in the NJCAA Division II Poll for April 4th. Both Parkland Colleges baseball and softball team are ranked in the latest poll. Parklands baseball team moved up in the ranking from 7th to 4th. while the softball team is ranked 12th. Heartland Community College's softball team is ranked in the 17th spot, while their baseball team is receiving other votes. Lincoln Land Community College's baseball team is currently ranked 17th. Danville Area Community College's softball team is receiving other votes in the latest poll.
