Hot start not enough for OCC in Champaign

Three pointers from Weslee Wilson and Alicia Hasler helped catapult the Lady Knights to a quick 14-2 lead out of the gates.  2 free throws and a 15 foot jumper for Sophomore Lauren Moses of Parkland were the only 4 points of the first stanza for the Cobras as OCC went into the second quarter with a 20-4 lead.

Parkland outscored the Lady Knights  in the second period cutting into OCC's lead heading into the half holding on to a 30-19 lead.  The third period saw the Lady Knights lead diminish ah Freshman Kristyn Lowery found her shooting stroke as well as Hayley Toohill.  

Foul trouble plagued the Lady Knights throughout the first three quarters and continued to play an impact throughout the game. the game headed into the fourth quarter tied at 43.   Weslee Wilson paced the Lady Knights throughout the game with her game high 22 points (with the help of 5 three pointers) to go along with 5 assists and 4 rebounds.  Freshman Kelsi Scott added 10 points and 13 rebounds.  

Coach Burris and the Lady Knights will play in their final Region 24/GRAC/District P game Saturday afternoon at Southwestern Illinois as they play the Blue Storm at 1:00 CST.
