Lady Knights fall in Danville

Despite a double-double from Sophomore Weslee Wilson, the Lady Knights were not able to pull off the road win Saturday afternoon.  OCC drops to 4 and 4 after the loss to the Jaguars.

OCC got off to a slow start with some cold shooting and unforced turnovers in the first quarter.  Trailing 11-8 at the end of the first period, Danville then went on a 7-0 run pushing the lead to 18-8. The Lady Knights finally found the bottom of the net with 8 points from Freshman Jaycie Luna included 2 three pointers.  Luna's spark help the Lady Knights get the game back to a two point game heading into the second half.

The Lady Knights battled and hung around with the Jaguars for most of the 3rd quarter, taking the lead a few times throughout the second half.  Two late threes by Weslee Wilson helped keep the game within reach for OCC, but in the end simply ran out of time.  Alicia Hasler added 11 points and Freshman Jaycie Luna added 10 points all coming in the first half.  Wilson added 5 assists to go along with her 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Coach Burris and the Lady Knights travel to Mt. Carmel Tuesday evening for a GRAC/District matchup with the Warriors.  Wabash Valley will enters the game 5-4 on the season with a 1-1 GRAC record and 1-2 District P record.  OCC enters 4-4 overall, 1-0 GRAC, and 1-1 District P.
