Game- 1

The Kishwaukee Kougars jumped out to an early lead on Danville Area Community College and captured a 10-1 victory on Friday at Malta, IL.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed Kishwaukee to put the game away early.

A three-run home run by Krystal Swanson in the first inning and a solo home run by Kelsie Thurman during the second inning fueled Kishwaukee's offense early.

Swanson racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Kougars.

Jasmine Kerley's five strikeouts were enough to push Kishwaukee past Danville Area Community College. Kerley allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over five innings.

Marissa Bumpus ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked one and struck out one.

Kishwaukee brought home three runs in the third inning, and matched that run total in the fourth. In the third, the Kougars scored on a two-run double by McKenna Marcinkowski, bringing home Swanson and Jessica Townsend.

Kishwaukee added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Marcinkowski singled, scoring Townsend to kick things off. That was followed up by Courtney Olufs's single, bringing home Swanson.

 

 Game 2-

Despite Kelsie Thurman's 2-3 performance at the plate on Friday, Kishwaukee Kougars took an 8-0 loss at the hands of Danville Area Community College at Malta, IL.

Morgan Laws got the win for Danville Area Community College.She pitched five shutout innings. Laws struck out four, walked none and gave up four hits.

Danville Area Community College was sparked by Hanna Sheppard and Shailen Johnson, who teamed up for five hits and six RBIs.

Alyssa Ohme ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in five innings, walked two and struck out one.

Danville Area Community College built upon its lead with two runs in the fourth. Johnson kicked things off with a single. That was followed up by Sheppard's double, scoring Johnson.
