KCC BASEBALL TEAM DROPS SERIES OPENER
ENID, Okla. - The Kirkwood baseball team got off to a rough start at the NJCAA Division II World Series Saturday with an 8-0 loss to Heartland in eight innings.
The Eagles (43-17) collected only four hits in the game against Heartland ace Reese Dutton, who pitched 7.2 scoreless innings and raised his record to 10-0.
Kirkwood will face Murray State Sunday at 4 p.m. in a losers bracket game.
Jake Matthaidess (7-2) was touched for five runs in four innings for Kirkwood and absorbed only his second loss of the season.
