Parkland sophomore Tyler Woods fired a 54 hole total 1-under par, to lead the Cobra Men's Golf team to the NJCAA D-2 Region 24/District I title. The victory sends the Cobras to Nationals for the 2nd straight year. PC will be one of 22 teams to go to Foley, Alabama, May 21-24 at Glen Lakes CC.
Woods (73-69-73 215) was the class of the field as he won the two-day event by 11 strokes over three golfers, including teammate Kristian Kristensen (76-75-75 226). Jalen Hodges (81-74-73 228) and Andreas Nielsen (79-76-74 228) finished 6th and 7th respectively. All four players were named All-Region for their outstanding play.
After trailing by 13 strokes following the opening round, PC pulled away for the convincing 18 stroke victory over Rend Lake. Both the Cobras and Warriors qualify for Nationals along with five individuals.
